The NBMBAA's Scholarship Program has been in existence since 1982.  The NBMBAA, Atlanta Chapter believes an investment in the education of our youth, is an investment in our association. Last year, the Atlanta chapter awarded more than $10,000 in scholarships.  The Scholarship Program promotes the NBMBAA mission of increasing the number, as well as the diversity of successful African-Americans in the community by providing scholarships ($1,000 and $1,500 each) to outstanding deserving minority students at the undergraduate, graduate, and PhD level who exceed in academic achievement, leadership development, and service commitment.

 

Requirements for Atlanta MBA Scholarship Award:

Applicants must:

  1. Be an African American full time student (12 semester hours) enrolled in one of the following programs: Clark Atlanta University, Emory University, Clayton State University, Georgia State University, Georgia Tech University, Kennesaw State University, Troy State University, Mercer University, University of Georgia.
    1. SACS accredited university or college program in the Metropolitan Atlanta Georgia area.
    2. SACS or AACSB accredited MBA program in the Metropolitan Atlanta Georgia area.
    3. SACs or AACSB accredited PhD program at a School of Business, college or university in the Metropolitan Atlanta Georgia area.
  1. Participate in 5 hours of community service and/or extra-curricular activities.
  2. Submit an essay on specified subject matter.
  3. Submit an official stamped college transcript.
  4. Submit 2 letters of recommendation, (at least one being from a Business Professor).
  5. NBMBAA LOT scholarship recipient will be required to participate in 2 LOT meetings.
  6. Must be able to attend Scholarship Award Luncheon on Friday October 16, 2010 to receive award.
  7. Must be financial member of the NBMBAA Atlanta Chapter.
  8. Provide a personal biography and professional picture upon notification that award is being received.
  9. Submit a completed application postmarked and electronically submitted no later than August 1, 2010

 

*Award recipients must be enrolled in one of the above programs at the time the scholarship is transmitted in 2011 to receive the scholarship.
